Very damaged dry hair issues =/ ...?

I'm Hispanic,my hair is short considered African American type Once my sister learned to do sew in extensions, I started wearing hair extensions for months and months.Although, I already have low self esteem hair extensions just kinda made a little boost for me, because we all know how hair is very important for us especially being a girl and all.

So,I finally took off my hair extensions today and I'm very disappointed at the results of my natural hair obviously it's damaged, fragile and just plain dry not to mention.. shorter.

My dad is taking me to a hair salon and their going to cut, perm and color.I know perm isn't the best thing to do to your hair but when you're hair is badly in need of one this is one main option.

I've agreed on NO more hair extensions and sticking to caring for my own natural hair and letting it grow.

I'm thinking of getting a short edgy bob haircut.

Any tips on taking care of natural hair or advice?

Please and Thank you.

well I understand how you feel, I think you should embrace your hair, you ll never get lice..lol..joiking just joking really.

you probably need more moisture to your hair that's all, and I wouldn't perm or color the hair if you decide to Color it you should try henna a natural hair color-er..the perms look nice but they only eat into a woman's brain after years of use, and break the hair even more, their terrible.. you should try these products for more moisture..

2.www.ETAEPRODUCTS.com

they sell all natural products for you, you can straighten your hair with a hot comb, then spray on the moisturizer from ubh, she also wrote a book

"called ultra black hair grow II' its a really good book.

you could rent it from the library..drink lot of water and eat good food, try to stay away from meat and bad foods maybe try some hair grow herbs, herbs not the vitamins, the softer herbs dissolve better in the system,..you ll be fine you just have to take care of you hair more..best of luck to you..tah..tah..

Rinse it with cold water!

The cold water seals your hair cuticle and leaves your hair shiny!

Hot water opens the hair cuticle which makes it frizzy!

your not going to see an instant difference unless you keep this up everyday!

(over time your hair will lay flatter and flatter and get shinier and shiner!)

All that is very damaging to your hair the less processing the better.

first of all the perm is going to make the damage a whole lot worse! but if you must, buy a good reconstructer and conditioner from the salon!

wash you're hair with bottled water yes it's expensive but it works also use Neutrogena deep conditioner and leave it in put a shower cap over it then leave it in for about 5-6 hours then wash it out this will help a ton specially if you do this over and over!! Also instead of drying you're hair with a towel use a cotton tee-shirt doesn't frizz as easily!

try a good shampoo and conditioner. you should also try the japanese straightening thingy. its very popular nowadays but tis expensive. $100. dont perm your hair.

im guessing you have brown/black hair

put about a cup of plain yogurt and chocolate%26lt;natural, like not the candy bar one, their in Latino stores%26gt; and your hiar conditioner, leave it in for 30 mins, then rinse with cold water.

i did one for my hair, but differently, cuz of i have red hair, and it worked really good.

Don't get a perm, it'll only make your hair worser, get a perm when your hair is healthy enough.

Use a moisturizing shampoo condtioner and leave in creme. I reccomened Neutrogena Triple Moisture, shampoo conditioner and deep recovery hair mask

Neutrogena.com

Brush your hair before shampooing and conditioner so your hair won't be tangeled.

Don't wash your hair everyday try 3 times a week

Avoid combing hair while wet, use a wide tooth comb.

Deep condition twice a week

Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks.

While shampooing massage your scalp with your fingertips slowly, it's not necessary to shampoo the ends, then rinse with warm water.

When using a conditioner leave on for about 1-3 minutes so you can get great results then comb hair with wide tooth comb then rinse with very cold water to have shiny hair

If you use gel/hairspray/moose stop using them. They damage and dry up your hair.

If you use heat appliaces (blowdryers, curling irons, hair straightener) use a heat protecter spray so it'll protect your hair from heat.

If your in the sun alot buy a cap or a hoodie to protect your hair from the sun, heat damages and drys out your hair.

Buy a leave-in-conditioner/leave-in conditioner/creme to moisturize your hair all day long and don't rinse.

After your out of the shower set your blowdryer on cool setting and blowdryer your hair for 2 minutes, this will help seal the hair cuticles for a smooth shiny surface.

If you dye your hair do it atleast once a year, hair dye has terrible chemicals that kill your hair.

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.
