Bobbed style haircut help !!!!?

I have hair that is slightly below my ears, I have some natural wave and curl. My hair has been in a short bobbed style before, and it maintained the curl well and looked cute. That was awhile ago, and I would like to go back to that style, just a little bit longer (somewhere between my ears and collar).

Question is, that hairstylists I've been to don't seem to know what I'm talking about! What is it called when the bottom ends of your hair curl under toward your head, and it slightly comes out from your head in the curl? I used to call in "undercut" or the term "stacked", but I am not sure if this is correct or not.

Please help and with photos if you can!!!! Thanks!!!!

You are correct. The undercut makes it turn under by itself and the stack gives you volume. Try going to a hairdresser that's been doing hair for longer than a minute. I would highly recommend NOT letting someone cut your hair if they don't know what an undercut is. You may find a photo here...Good luck.

I would go to a professional to have them dye your hair. Even still though i would ask them to go about dying it slowly to make sure you like it first. You also want to make sure you don't damage your hair by shocking it with too much damage at once.

You should go to a professional. It's never good to try this at home.. I did and I totally botched my hair and now, almost a year later, it's growing back but still a lot shorter than I want it. I'm sure you look best with dark hair anyway. Try adding highlights instead of doing the full-on blond... roots start to show right away and you will look really bad, no offense.

People really need to read the questions and answer them they way they ought to be answered. Well I have dark brown/blackish hair and I want a change. So I'm dying my hair blonde too. I'm going to a local Sally's store and asking them there. Also I've been reading many of these questionaires and reading the answers. But you need to bleach your hair first off. Then in about 1-3 hours you have to DYE your hair with the particular color that you want your hair to be. When bleaching be careful not to leave it on too long or else you will cause more damage than normal. Read the directions and ask questions while your at your local beauty store!

Well you should go to a salon and yes it will be expensive. Going from Brown to Blonde there are some steps to take so that you don't burn your hair or so that it isn't gold instead of orange....yuck. Bleaching hair can work but, if you leave it on too long you can fry your hair. You can apply the color and sit under a heat lamp or hair dryer to speed up the process. It won't fry your hair doing it that way. Also when it is time to rinse the hair color a toner will need to be applied to your hair so that it doesn't end up being gold or orange. The toner works great to ensure you end up with blonde hair. Also deep condition your hair by adding conditioner mainly at the ends for 10 min. before styling. And do so for atleast 2 days so that your hair doesn't become brittle.

Whatever you do do not do it in one step cause it will damage your hair. The best way is to keep adding highlights every 3 months and make sure to do treatments so that your hair can stay and look healthy. Good luck

Id go into the whol goth thing slowly. Start with a few colored streaks in your hair....a deep green, blue or purple to bring out the eye color. body wise i dont like giving out suggestions because somethings just dont look right on certain people so just go with whats right on your body type. start with maybe a chain walled on a pair of jeans ...just do it little by little then maybe hell notice.

for the face maybe a tinted chapstick blistex has a nice one. brown or black eye liner usually looks good with blue eyes.

Got my asian hair japenese relaxed?

I got my Asian thick hair relaxed last year and after that my hair fall out loads over a period of months and I thought it is due to stress but after months found out it is due to relaxing my hair. As a result I have had to cut my to bob and it has the relaxing bits still in my hair. I am guessing by December hopefully it should all grow out but my hair is still falling but not as much but more then it should. The salon did not even tell me about the after treatments or anything, so I just used to shampoo my hair that閳ユ獨 all.

I've never had this happen, but if your hair is falling out, it could be bad! It will grow back by the end of the year, though, yes... Just wait and you'll get your normal hair back.

I am not sure if you have enough body to carry this style off. You have nice hair perhaps just cut it a little shorter and see how you like it. But then if you really think you like the style go for it. If it does not hold up you can cut is even shorter and then let it grow in. It will come back.

razoring tapers the ENDS of the hair . It should be done by someone with experience, and I don't care what any other stylists say, it should NEVER be done dry. I have had my hair, and fixed others hair that was done this way because it damages the cuticle (outer coating) of the hair and causes it to be frizzy and unmanageable. With your texture, you will probably get more volume with razoring and because its hard to find someone GOOD to do it, I wouldn't recommend it. If you want to loose some weight off the hair and get rid of some dead ends, have just the underneath thinned just a BIT with thinning shears . Plan on having to flat iron or curl your hair because this will make it lighter and give it more volume as well but is less damaging than razoring. If you want you could also do long layers. Good luck

Go to a hairdresser with that photo in your hand. Ask them how to do it, if it can be done and how much it'll cost. Most of the time the consultation is free, or you get the fee back when you get your hair done. I would have to see your hair, but I think the right hairdresser can do ANYTHING you want.

That style is awesome for Nicole, you have to take into account how much time you are willing to spend on straightening your hair to look like that.

You can remove bulk (thin) hair with a razor, but with curly hair, I don't recommend it. Layering it will make it look less thick though. Otherwise your stylist should be able to thin it using texturizing (taper) sheers. Make sure any consultation you do with your stylist is thorough and she knows or has a very good idea of what you are looking to achieve. A good stylist will always take into account your facial shape, lifestyle and the amount of time you have or are willing to spend on your hair. Remember..hair grows and there is nothing that can't be fixed!

Honey, keep dreaming. I am a stylist and if you have thick hair there is only so much we can do to thin it. Razoring can help but not that much and only if the stylist razoring your hair know the correct technique.

It was about 2 inches from my waist and now it is to the bottom of my chin in the front and shorter in the back. Not a pixie cut though. More like a bob, a little longer than a pixie cut. I have short hair too. what i do is i usually wear it in little tiny ponytails. (you can get sum tiny little hair rubberbands at the dollar store) and as the girl before me said , two tiny braids. another thing i do ( and it would look great on you since you have wavy hair) is i put this garnier surfer hair stuff in and that looks pretty cool (you can see how to do it at garnier.com, theres this little link called "what's your dream hair" or sumthing, and there are these little pictures of cool hair styles you can try)

what i like with short hair is having a really small pony-tail. it looks cool to me.or another i like is real small braids just split your hair into two pieces (put half oin one side and another half on the other) then make two small braids on each side or fill your whole head with extra small braids those are what i use to do with my hair

With really short hair, you need to go to a good stylist and ask them to teach you. You can make is short and kinda spiky with gel (not like, weird or bad) or get it sideswept.

I'd go with some very sweet simple headbands. You could place the headband behind the bangs of the older child and do something a little different with the headband for the younger. Or you simply could put together little flower clips.......the nice thing is that hair accessories are much prettier now. My daughter was just a flower girl this past Saturday and there was also another little girl who was another flower girl. When I spoke to the bride she told me how she wanted my daughter to wear her hair, parted on the side and swept up on one side in these clips she bought for her, she preferred the other girl (who was younger than my daughter) wear her hair the same way. Ok, I am not a pageant mom, so don't take this the wrong way, I am a mom of a 5 year old blonde with very fine, straight hair. She was a flower girl in 3, yes, 3 weddings last year. Her hair doesn't hold curl well, and I was at a loss, until I got her a "fake" hair clip on curly hair piece. I got it at a Sally's beauty supply store, it matches her hair perfectly, cost about 15 dollars, which was cheaper than getting her hair professionally done once, and is so easy. You just put her real hair into a pony tail or bun and clip on the fake curly hair ring, and you have a perfectly done updo. In all the weddings, she wore a flower ring halo too. When the evening is done, just take out the fake hair, and they have their natural ponytail back! Best wishes!

I actually think red hair and green eyes look great together. I'd be more cautious about checking that it looks good against your skin.

Can you maybe snip a bit of hair from underneath and just do a test run on that? Then put the coloured hair against your face to check. Or if the store has those little hair sample curls, try holding that against your face.

The other thing is because you have light blonde hair, the red may not disappear altogether. It may leave a reddish cast to your hair. I would talk to a hairdresser before proceeding.

yeah, definitely achievable. especially because you're already blonde. you'll have to go in every six weeks or so for roots, and i recommend the redken extreme line to minimize damage.

I went pretty wild with it and covered my entire already highlighted caramel hair and dyed dark hair with it. I left conditioner on my hair when finished, sat under a heater for 20 minutes to let the conditioner penetrate and then went to sleep. I always wake up in the middle of the night after putting trying to sleep with conditioner in because conditioner makes my head itch. I shockingly like the auburn locks I gave myself, very beautiful...and I am glad I let the conditioner sit in! I don't think I will wash my hair for at least 3 days to let natural oils heal my scalp and hair...but my main question is, when I put all my hair down (which is cut in a pob, posh bob) I have a blotched dye job on my right side from where I didn't let the hair dye sit long enough I suppose, I was getting scared because I know the formula had bleach in it and would be potent on my already processed hair. On my 30th birthday, we bought hair pieces...good ones, mind you, from a lady who showed us how to wear them. I had two, one kind of a spirally thing and one kind of a full, wavy one. They had a drawstring, you could let them in or out...I usually put my natural hair up into a pony tail and fitted the piece around it, snugged it with a couple of hair pins. It was a mesh construction so you could pull your own hair through it...I was amazed at how real it looked.

Try using a REALLY low heat setting on your flat iron. Or consider getting a new flat iron, because that might be the problem. Also, try using a deep conditioner in your hair. I use Redken all soft heavy cream and it really helps my damaged hair. I dye it and straiten it frequently, so i know how crappy and annoying split ends are. And try using different kinds of protecting sprays to see which works best.

I have a bob, and my friend got hers cut into one, when she was 12, and her hair is curly. I never thought it looked that short but she said that it went quite short when she washed it or went in the swimming pool. But I suppose it depend on how curly your hair is. If its wavy, all you need to do is straighten it, but if its curly and goes frizzy with straightners, then put heat protection spray on it, and blow dry it.

Well I went to go get my hair cut on friday. I wanted an inverted bob (sorta like Rihanna's). I got home and it was completely crooked and uneven. Looked like a five year old cut it. So I went back and got the length fixed (now a whole lot shorter than expected). I'm still completely unhappy with it. The layers are all choppy looking. I wanted short layers in the back to give it more volume. I have baby fine, and it doesn't do much at all. I have a Marine Corps ball to go to in about a week, and I'm devistated. Would they fix it again at no charge or can I get my money back?

I too have a round face which works great with short sassy to tapered angled styles or extremely sexy hairstyles that end a couple inches below the chin which elongate the face, I usually choose the more dramatic styles than traditional. The most important thing with round faces I have found is that layers always work with long or short. it's the in between that is the pain. and according to the following reference, we round facers should avoid the chin length bob, and we can do long but in layers.

My hair is cut in a reverse bob (shorter in the back, longer toward the front.) Right now it's a little below my chin, mostly one length, with some layers through the back. Hi I have thick hair and my trial wedding trial was a night mare, my hair is quite long and I wanted it to be curled and it just turned out hideous, and I the curls wouldnt even stay in. So the only way I could get my hair the way I wanted it was to buy a wig lol In the end I decided to go for an up do and I did iy myself, I did a french twist and put a fancy comb in the side of it everyone thought I had is done professionanlly.

I use Sebastian Spritz Forte that I buy from my hairdresser it costs about 鎷?2.99. I have quite thin hair that didn't really hold any volume until I used this.

It sprays like a mist so you can either spray it and leave it or dry it with the hair dryer and a round brush for maximum effect, also you can reactivate the product by rubbing your fingers through your hair, it smells gorgeous too.

You will need to find a good stylist and have her work with you. It will take a little longer because you should be getting your hair shaped (trimmed) about every 6 to 8 weeks. But, your stylist can keep your hair cut to where you can manage it without it driving you crazy. I know because I grew mine out about 3 to 4 inches from a short style. Your stylist can also educate you on the use of different products to sculpt, shape, and hold your hair in place.

A good stylist is worth their weight in gold! lol

An inexpensive way is to wear a hat or get some barrettes or headbands! Plus, you can always make it look shorter by styling it with gel or curl it with mousse. Yeah...curling it could work! Anways, good luck! :]

There's beauty supply stores here (and some stylist/makeover places, also day spas that have computer programs that let you punch in what you look like now and then show your hair as it gorws an inch at a time so you and the stylist can work out each stage of the process.

I had my hair cut in a chin length bob,but it grew out. Recently, I saw this girl with a cute bob in, oddly enough, a Valtrex commercial and I want my hair cut like that. She had dark brown hair and she was lying in a hammock with her boyfriend. I can't find the clip online; does anyone know where I might find it? Would a hairstylist accept it if I taped the commercial and gave her the video to look at? I know that this is a weird place to find a good haircut, but I really want to look like that.

Valtrex is the herpes medicine. I don't know if you really want to tape that specific commercial and broadcast it to everyone at the beauty parlor. lol.

Ok, don't get a bob unless you have STRAIGHT hair.

I have blonde wavy hair too and i made the mistake of getting a bob. It SUCKED, there was no way to control it and because of the waves, when it was cut short and the weight was taken off them, my hair went FRIZZY and curly and horrible, and I looked like an idiot til i could tie it back.

If you don't have straight hair, grow it long! Shortness is the enemy of curls and waves, trust me on this. Length weighs the hair down and keeps it more subdued and beautiful-looking.

I made the mistake so you don't have to! :P

Seriously though, I really really advise against cutting it short, it will just make your hair uncontrollable. I keep mine long but for practicality I always wear it tied back in a bun or a french twist or a braid and it always looks good like that, I straighten it and wear it down on special occasions but not every day.

I've had short hair for most of my life, but I can't seem to find a decent hairdresser these days!!! Every cut I've had over the past few years has just been terrible and I'm so sick!

I have now decided to grow my hair a little.

I would like a layered bob, but I'd like it to be wavy and a little curled instead of straight as I hate my straight hair. I know straight is fashionable at the moment, but I don't suit it.

How would it be possible to get some wavy hair without putting curlers in each morning? I wash my hair each morning and have the kids to get ready, so I don't have time to mess around styling it.

Girl i think your easiest solution would be to get a very loose perm! When you get a loose perm your hair isnt tight curls just lose and wavy and it stays in for a while so even if you dont want to do your hair in the morning all you have to do is wash it and its curly when it's dry! and you can straightnen it if you dont like it. Loose perms are a very nie style i think you should try it. :) Good Luck!!

Hi nothing wrong with short hair you sound lovely. Bobs too are classic and a layered bob would be good too. It just your luck geeting a good haircut. If you see someone with a good haircut in the street ask them who cuts it. Lots of women seem fed up with salons theses day why not check out local barbers too that has women in them you might be surprised at how good a cut you can get there and lots cheaper.

you could cut it shorter (not the bob!) like maybe sholder lenghth, then when you staighten it, it wont take long.

Getting it relaxed professionally at a salon is probably the best thing you could do. It is a bit expensive but i think it lasts for 4-6 months. My hair isn't ringlets, but it's wavy, think, and puffy, so I'm considering getting it relaxed. You could straighten it every morning but that would be just as much of a hassle as what you have going on now. Personally, I love ringlets. They're adorable, and although they might be a ***** to take care of, I think it's worth it. Whatever you decide, I'm sure your hair will look great.

I, too, have really curly, thick hair. I found that what worked best for me was the Japanese hair straightening system. Although it takes a lot longer and is more expensive than conventional straighteners, it is far more effective. I've been getting it done for nearly three years, and I love how my hair looks now. My life has become much simpler. It is blow dry and go-in fact, you often don't need to blow dry at all.

The Japanese straightening systems are the best but not every salon does them. Even with that though, most of the time it's not blow dry and go. I have naturally curly hair and I use a Chi Rocket professional blow dryer and my hair will dry straight but it will still be poofy and frizzy. I don't think there is a way to get around purchasing a good straightener.

I agree. You'll save a lot of time and stress from looking for weave that has a similar curl pattern to your own hair. Just buy a straight weave (human hair) that matches your color and texture, put that in, and then set all of your hair. I'm sure it'll be cute!

How to curl short-ish hair?

Shampoo and condition your hair. When finishing, do your last rinse with cold water.

Squeeze the excess water out. Towel/air dry for 10-15 minutes. Divide hair into 3-4 sections. To scrunch it, scrunch your hair from the ends going upward to your roots (like scrunch paper),once you're at the root..secure with a hair clip/claw. You want it damp but not soaking wet or dripping.

Wrap your hair in a small towel (for thin hair leave on a few minutes, for thick hair up to 20 minutes). Do not rub your hair at all with a towel(this will cause frizziness).. What you can do is wring it within the towel if the ends are still dripping.

Run your fingers like a wide-tooth comb through your hair and make a part as best as you can. Don't worry if it's not perfect!

Use hairspray. Put it near the middle and bottom of your hair. Putting it too close to your roots will cause it to look greasy and weighed down.

Turn your head upside down so that your hair is hanging down. This step is optional and some prefer to skip it. Helps give volume and a more even scrunch.

Put gel/mousse in your hands and rub them together to spread the gel/mousse.

Grab a small handful of hair by the ends and push it up toward the head. Hold it in place for a few moments while aiming the hair dryer at it to 'set' the gel/mousse/hair spray.

Repeat this all over your head, reapplying the gel every time. Keep in mind that small handfuls yield tighter waves and large handfuls create full, loose waves.

Leave hair alone while air-drying if you opt to not blow-dry with a diffuser. If you mess with it too much it will cause frizz.

Do not rush the steps or rush to dry it. Letting it dry by itself is a way to leave it with a wet look.

Spray an even amount of spray wax at the middle and ends of your hair for more texture. (Pantene Texturize! is great.)

I am a tosser and a turner. I sleep mostly on my side, switching from one side to another, but I do end up on my back at times. I have some split ends in the top layers of my hair (I am natural blonde with an assymetrical bob), I use Aussie Down Under mousse to build volume with a round metal brush. Your flat iron is most likely the reason for your split ends. Flat irons get so much hotter than a curling iron or a hair dryer. Heat is very damaging to your hair. When you straighten it, you should use a thermal protectant spray like Matrix's Sleek Look Iron smoother.

Here are some tips to also help!

Get tons of necklaces, bangles, plastic rings, and accessories. For your hair get plastic hair clips and plenty of hair bows for when you pull it back. You need to get hairspray and no-frizz lotion for you hair. Get your clothes from stores like Hollister, Pac Sun, Abercrombie and Fitch, and American Eagle. Also go to places like Alloy, Charlotte Russe, Wet Seal, Forever21, and Delias. Try getting a few pairs of wedges, many pairs of skimmers and flats, and many pairs of flip flops. Also DO NOT WEAR the same pair of tennis shoes several days in a row, get many pairs. It also helps to get like either a bunch of cute but cheap handbags or a cute designer bag like the coach one I picked out. They have on all this clunky jewelry and some wild outrageous shoes that you know hurt their feet all day. Since you are so thin, you can really get away with a lot of cute styles. well go to ur fav. store pick out your fav. color of a tee-shirt a pair of faded jeans try ones with little holes of them then throw in a pair of sandals wittha bag no one has seen you with before if you wear make-up try your eye color or brighter ones to emphzize your eyes!!! For your hair maybe put it up in a clip if it all reaches or just leave it down!!

Middle school outfit?

Well... I am going into 8th grade, but as long as you're in junior high, then I would suggest Limited Too. The best store ever. And right now they are having a sale. I got some great deals there. Chunky jewelry is in. Big diamond stud earrings, too. Rocketdogs are hot, babydoll tops, leggings, and in some places, skinny jeans. But the most important thing is where what you feel most comfortable in and what your school and parents allow. Hope this helped!
