Hiya, I have half an inch to an inch past my chin length hair and it's growing out from a graduated bob, but it's looking a mess becase of the layers in the back. If I put it up in a ponytail, it looks bad low because the top layers are shorter that the bottom layers, and when it's up in a high ponytail, it looks good enough up, but underneath I have to put a lot of clips in it in order to keep the bottom layers up, I need serious help! can anybody suggest what I could do with it? Or how to style it as it grows out?
P:S-Am growing it out for my bf, he hasnt said he wants it long, but I want to grow it so he sees what it's like long (it was to my shoulders when i first met him) and am growing it out for me as well! Thanks for all answers x
Hair Help??????
I was a hairdresser for the past 8 years and as a suggestion, without actually having seen your hair, I would recommend getting the length cut shorter.
I know this sounds bizarre when you are trying to grow it, but I can assure you that when my clients ask for the same thing - growing out layers and length etc - i always believed that the sooner your layers grow out the longer your hair will actually look.
If you do this a cm at a time it will take no time at all.
A few other tips:
Invest in a really good shampoo and conditioner that is specifically for fragile hair will help to strengthen your hair and prevent it from suffering damage and snapping before you get it to the length you desire.
Don't wash it every day - if you must wet it so you can style it, condition it instead. Removing the natural oils from your hair will make the ends much more prone to splitting.
Dont brush your hair when it is wet as this will cause damage and breakage, which will eventually result in straggly long hair - always use a wide tooth comb when it is wet.
