Why is there a prejudice for guys to have long hair but it's O.K. for girls to have hair as short as a guy? I want to have a chin length bob. But, people keep telling me that it isn't cool for a guy to have long hair.

it really depends on what you look like. the thinner you are the longer you can get away with having long hair. i think it's very cool to for different types of guys to have long hair, like emo guys long hair is awaesome, and for surfers, even some jocks can have hair!

As for the short hair on girls vs. long hair on dudes: it's a double-standard, and double-standards are Not Cool.

So there is nothing wrong with long hair for dudes. I really hate people who say it's a "chick" thing, as if being female is such a negative thing.

Long hair isn't a "feminine" thing. It's a human thing, get over it, dear sexist people of our community. Our hair grows long naturally, so if you want it long, then let it grow. Just maintain it, and...it would probably be best not to go overboard (like beyond your ankles or something), because that would be filthy :D

So yes. Go for it! Do what you want, and don't let some sexist morons tell you otherwise.
